Bone spurs in gums?

I had my bottom teeth removed 3 weeks ago.Now i have bone spurs. The dentists wants to file them down. Will this hurt? And what will they do?thank you

Answers:
the dentist will usually numb the area and file the spur.it should not be too traumatic..bone spurs are quite common after extractions
It sounds as though your dentist did a Poor Job in removing your bottom teeth. What happens is when they Pull on the Tooth it doesn't Always come right out..It forced them to then break the tooth into little peices and some times it comes out just as you described. My son had his wisdom teeth removed several months ago, about two months later he called me and told me a peice of BONE came out from his jaw.He showed it to me later, it was the size of my small finger nail and had about 20 small peices all in one very large fragment.File it down? I don't know about that, it sounds like you need to fina another dentist who won't Botch it up...Good Luck...
