Which is worse a bunion or a bone spur?

I have two friends argueing at work and would like to get this resolved. How do you treat each? What happens if you don't treat them? Thanks for your answers!

Answers:
I have three bone spurs in my heel and it is by far the most painful food ailment I've ever had ( besides breaking the other one).
I don't know what the treatment for bunions is but for bone spur you have them removed by the Dr. I just haven't gotten around to it yet ( I guess I like the pain). I know that because I favor my spur foot the opposite hip is out of alignment. That is also rather painful..
