Degenerative disc is where the disc or cushions in between the vertebrae shrink. Over time it can lead to a pain from nerve compression. A bone spur is an abnormal bone formation. It can also cause nerve compression and pain. As far as the spinal bifida occulta, this is a condition where before you were born, your spinal column did not close properly. Usually it is such a small area that it would not cause any problem, but coupled with the other you could have more exposed nerves. The problem is with age, your have more damage from wear and tear of your body. If you are overweight, it causes more pressure on your disc. Usual treatment is anti-inflammatory, physical therapy and exercise. At the worse you will need surgery to repair the damage.
