Any remedy for a bone spur? my left foot is in so much pain, i cannot stand!?

Answers:
Yikes, I feel your pain. I had a bone spur for years and I actually just had surgery to remove my bone spur on my left foot in December of 2006.

I had been seeing a podiatrist for years. I first tried prescription strength NSAIDs (Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs). Not just prescription strength Advil, I can't remember the kind, but it was the real stuff. That didn't do anything to relieve the pain for me. So then I tried orthopedic inserts and even went so far as to wear a boot. I'M 24 AND WAS WEARING AROUND A BOOT!! It didn't do a thing for the pain and so finally I just gave in and went back to my podiatrist and said OK to the surgery. I had been hesitant because I knew of people who had foot surgery and said it was the most painful thing they'd experienced.

Although after I went through it, it was painful, but I was used to pain in my foot, and this pain I knew was going to go away as opposed to the never ending bone spur!!
Of course there are issues with surgery, insurance, cost, time off work, scars, whether or not you WANT surgery and all that jazz.

However, I did it and I'm so glad I did!! I can finally put on a shoe and tie it! I used to not be able to do that! The last time I could do that was when I was 16!

So basically, if you want to try treating it at home, take 4 Advil, and plop in a shoe insert. When that doesn't work and you look longingly at the saw in your garage, call a podiatrist!
To find a podiatrist in your area, talk to your primary care doctor or check out this link:

Try using soft inserts like Micro cellular rubber and acupuncture. Eventhough it might be painful in the begining!! It will surely help.
