I lately found out that I hold a bone spur. I am contained by so much dull pain! What should I be looking for at the podiatrist?
I went to my primary care physician yesterday and had an x-ray done of my foot and found out that I enjoy a bone spur. My primary care doc referred me to a podiatrist who I see tomorrow. What questions should I ask and what sort of medications should I entail? I am in a lot of pain but I don't know if I am individual a big baby or what because my primary care doc would give me nil for the pain and told me to take ib prophen. Help please! I am in so much misery. If there is anyone reading this that has had a bone spur within the top of the foot or knows someone who has please share your experience with me.
Answers: I enjoy had a similar problem as well as a bone spur, I had a bunion that my podiatrist said I needed to own removed,so I trusted he knew what he was talking in the region of,he did the surgery, and it never would heal,I went back every week for 3 months beside no pain relief and it never healed,so I sought a 2nd assessment at a orthopedic. dr. and he told me he would need to operate again to complete the 1st surgery, it also never healed,I sought a 3rd opinion, and he finally sent me for a MRI, and Bone scan single to find out the podiatrist messed up so bad that 3rd surgery they had to amputate a hugh portion of my foot. They tried cortisone shots, anti-inflamatory meds, and pain meds. Too this light of day and for the rest of my life I will be in constant pain when I stand or put your foot. I haven`t been able to work in 3 years, and I am miserable most the time. Remember, purely because one Dr. may suggest something, get a 2nd or 3rd opinion, you are the patient and you call for to get as much info. as you can, don`t rush into anything,I will NEVER again take just 1 dr.s feelings, cause if they screw up YOU have to live near it not them, and granted they have malpractice insurance, but it`s way too stressful and almost impossible to take them to court. You would reason because they go to college they are capable, and most times we literally put our life surrounded by the hands of these Dr's. Good Luck
Beats me everyone I know that have had these be referred to a surgeon. You are right, they are so painfull from what I have been told.
Ask him/her why you were referred to them and not a surgeon, your GP should of also advise why he was referring you only to a Podiatrist. ask him or her to put a cortisone shot in it it help my wife
