Treatment for heel bone spur?

I have a bone spur on my heal. My doctor had me fitted near orthodics for my shoes. Orthotics are orthopedic devices that are used to alter or modify foot function and are designed to treat, adjust, and support various biomechanical foot disorders. He explained that the heal spur was cause by my foot not being properly aligned and that the constant rubbing created the spur. However, after some time I developed Plantar Faciitis, and inflammation of the plantar fascia — the tissue along the bottom of your foot that connects your heel bone to your toes. The condition is called plantar fasciitis (PLAN-tur fas-e-I-tis). I was given cortisone shots and sent for physical treatment, which worked great!
