Due to heel spurs I can't stand in line at airports & customs. What should I do?
I know that I will not be able to stand in line for long at the airport and then again while waiting to go through customs.
Is there something; paper or something notorized that I need from my doctor to prevent my having to stand in line?
How do Airports & customs accomodate?
(Traveling from Florida,U.S. to Costa Rica)
I do intend on having my heels injected with Cortizone prior to my leaving which will help a little.

Get a doctor's note just in case and request a wheelchair from the airlines - they will provide you with one if you ask. Call your particular airline to see what their rules are.
Simply show up and ask for a wheelchair and assistance to and from the plane. Federal law requires they give assitance to people with disabilities. Have fun in CR - If you go to San Jose, please go to the Hotel Delray and tell Susan at the reception "Cocky" says "Hi". Be careful though, American's are not favored like they used to be.
Tell the folks at the airline counter that you are handicapped and they will take you straight through the lines. Then they'll drive you in a cart to your departure gate. This should take care of the heel spur issue.
WHEELCHAIR WHEELCHAIR WHEELCHAIR. The wheelchair attendants cant wait in line for security due to the demand of wheelchairs needed. Just tell them that you have a problem in your heels and it is hard to stand/walk. They WILL NOT question or deny you. It might take about 10 minutes for the wheelchair to come, but it beats waiting in line, they take you from the ticket counter to your gate.
also, they accept tips. They work on minimum wage. About $5.00 is the average.
$3.00 at the least.
