Heel spurs are pointy outgrowth of your heel bone. This pointy outgrowth occurs in the bottom of your heel. Even though people who has heel spurs usually complaint about foot pain, but heel spurs is generally not the source of their pain. It is the inflammation and irritation of a thick ligament called plantar fascitis which is attached to the heel spurs that is causing the pain.
I have them, and the best way to describe what they are is to have you Google it. There's LOTS of great information and explanations there. That's what I did.
They are over growths of the heel bone.
