Heel Spurs - ouch!! - Help!?
I have the very painful condition of heel spurs and have had them for about 12 months now. I have seen podiatrist and have orthotics and take anti inflams. Has anyone got any tips or advice on how to reduce the pain??

the orthotics are the best way. your shoes arent sunk down right above the heel are they? if you have hard soled shoes, ditch them and try tennies for awhile
My dad had the same thing. His doctor told him not to do any heavy physical activity, running too much aggrivated it. He eventually went into surgery for them, since nothing else worked. He had to have his achilles tendon cut in order to get rid of them, which i know sounds horrible! It was obviously a long recovery, but he is pain free now! I dont know what your situation is, but from seeing my dad's experience, it would probably be better to get them taken off.
try resting, applying ice to the sore area, take some anti inflammatory or analgesic meds, heel pads, and wear shoes with good support. sometimes local cortisones injections can reduce inflammed tissues. ask your dr for some orthotics (shoe inserts) GOOD LUCK
you could try icing it first then put tiger balm and wrap it. if that does not work you could take two tylenols and two advils which is the equivalence of vicodin
cortizon shots in them can disolve them
Go to an orthopedic surgeon and ask about a steroid shot into the heel. It is quite a painful experience but if done right, it could be the answer to your pain problems.
