Can you describe the pain of planters fascitis? Is it the same pain as heel spurs or does that fill different

What is the test that the doctor will do to see which of these you have?

Answers:
I had (have) plantar facitis. It is very common and easy to treat. This is what my podiatrist said:
Wear running shoes NOT walking shoes at all times.
Wear arch supports (I use Spenco 3/4 length arch supports.)
Stop whatever exercises u are doing that is aggrivating it like walking or running. Try doing stuff like biking, yoga or pilates instead.
Do simple stretching exercises and use ice therapy: freeze a normal bottle of water. Take it out and basically roll your foot over the bottle (like a massage).
Doing all these things should ease the pain and cause the tendon to heal in time.

Normally xrays are done to determine for sure that's what it is, but my podiatrist said he gets at least 8-12 ppl a day with that type of pain. The pain is commonly this:
Upon waking in the morning, feet hurt bad, feel sore, and you have troulbe walkign. This also occurs after you've had yoru feet up awhile (such as at night and laying on teh sofa, get up to get something and bam, they hurt again.) The pain subsides during the day during normal activity unless feet are propped up for a long period of time. Pins and needles feelings are common also and often the pain will occassional happen during the day also, not as severe but as sort of a tingling.

I followed all his advice and my feet feel way better. I do NOT suggest going to one of those Good Feet stores or anything like that,t hey are just trying to sell you crap. The arch supports I bought were 20 bucks at Academy Sports and Outdoors. He said there are others but in all his years, his patients say Spenco works the best. (Dr Scholls is a laugh when u see how supportive the Spenco ones are.)
I dont even wear my sneakers hardly at all now (Im in southern Louisiana--too hot!) but just from doing what he said for a week or two (and giving up walking for exercise and biking instead) my feet feel way better.

Best of luck and hope that helps!
Plantar fasciitis effects the arch of the foot and sometimes the heel of the foot. I have this, what I do is every morning I get on my houses stairs and hang my heels over the edge so my toes are only on the step and then lower and lift myself on my toes, this helps to stretch out the foot, it has done wonders! also i bought good insoles for my shoes, never go without them!
