How can i heal my Heel Spur?

I have a heel spur. when i wake up in the morning i cannot properly walk and cannot rest my heel on ground. Gradually after a few minutes it becomes less painful.
I have had a checkup earlier to which the doctor says thats normal and gave me medicine (brufen). he also suggested me some excercise but it doesn't help at all! also gave me a supportive gel to keep in my shoe but all invain!

My doctor told me that alot of people have heel spurs. I have had the same pain since may. My doctor said it is Plantar Facitus. The tendon or muscle on the bottom of your foot tightens up at night, that is why it hurts worse in the morning. Sit in the bed and loop a towel around the bottom of your feet (ball of foot) and pull back as to stretch your toes. Hold it for 20 seconds. Do this 40 times. Stretch it out before bed too. Another exercise that really helps me is to stand facing a wall put your toes and ball of your foot on the wall and your heel should be on the ground. Stretch it out that way. Plastic heel cups from a medical supply store $6.00 each have really helped me. Also, my doctor said no sandles or shoes that have no support. Always buy running shoes because they are better. Take ibprophen 3 pills 3x's a day to keep the swelling down. Good luck!

I think that I might have had one. I had the same symptoms as you, but, it eventually went away. Took over a year though!!
My mother had to have hers surgically removed...
It takes a while but it will go away
GOOD LUCK....I've been researching this for quite some time now...as I have heel spurs.or bursitis...or achilles tentenitis...man its confusing.i also take anti-inflammatory drugs,,,,ibuprofen..tylenol for pain...and a R.I.C.E. plan

R=Rest
I=Ice the area..29 minutes
C=Compress the area similar to and ace bandage..not too tight allow circulation
E=Elevate

I also do stretches and exercises to help with the tightness and relieves the pain somewhat

Go to a search engine like google,ask momma, ask jeeves, etc. and type in 'HEEL PAIN',,,,its been my saviour in the last few days..and yes the pain is REAL!!
GOOD LUCK!!
i have also that kind of problem and did what you have done to make ease of the pain but all in vain until one day i happen to see a friend and told her my problem.you se she had that also,it happens to all working men who are standing for so long...and if you are barefooted you are prone to having that so what she did is underwent operation and it healed,so i might undergo operation also..visit your doctor who is a specialist of that sickness.thanks
Sounds like your doctor is on top of it. The only other thing I can suggest is seeing a Podiatrist and possibly having surgery on it. I have had good success with the exercises. I would try that for a while longer. Then seek more medical advice if it doesn't get better.
there is a horse shoe shaped insole thingy which you can put in your shoe. Ultimately you must stay off it for a long while. Sometimes your shoe is the culprit. Also alergies make these spurs worse, because it increases inflamation.

I think this in the AM thing probably points to something other than heal spur though mine only hurt after I walked a lot and was fine in the AM.
I had the operation and no trouble since.
