I may have a spur in my heel? Should I see a podiatrist or an orthopedic Dr.?

Answers:
you can see a podiatrist if you want. sad thing is, the surgery that is suggested is ...well, surgery. most folks that have spurs usually grow them back. but, see a podiatrist they may have something new and improved.
ortho's are just bone doctors, i would see a foot specialist.
if it is bothering you enough than definently!
I would say a podiatrist, since their specialty is feet, but I would think you could also see an orthopedist since it's bone-related. Check with both offices and see what they say. Good luck!
Either can help you, but a podiatrist is a lot cheaper!
A calcaneal spur is a result of calcium deposit in your heels. You need an orthopedic surgeon to remove the growth by surgery.

Check with your doc about your calcium intake.
If you require surgery, I would see a podiatrist who is also a board certified orthopedic surgeon...they really have sharp surgical skills.

If that is not available to you, either a podiatrist or an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in foot and ankle surgery should be appropriate.
Podiatrist.
