Planter Fascitis? and heel spurs?
how do you cur it please help
This is a painful issue as you may already know. I was just this minute diagnosed with plantar's fascitis and heel spurs in both of my feet. It in truth got to the point where I had severe trouble walking until that time I called my foot doctor.
The treatment would consist of weekly injections of cortisteriods into the heel/and plantar tendon, a foot and ankle splint to be worn at night, and anti-inflamatory medicine (NSAIDS like aspirin, motrin, etc).
The injections in my heels are not fun by any stretch of the imagination. I actually have to do some old fashion lamaze (childbirth) breathing. After the injections, my heels round out which gives me a swaying meander for a few days, there is also bruising at the injections site...although none of this may happen to you.
It is suggested that you do stretching exercises similar to what runners do to warm up...stretching the achillies muscle. Resting with your feet up whenever possible...I work as a chef so that's pretty much impossible. I am still working a 8-16 hr shift.
Buying heel and arch supports that fit into your shoes helps. The extra cushioning and support relieves some of the stress on the arch of the foot.
Everything I've read on the subject suggests that heel spurs (a bony hook on your heel) form from the fascitis. The contraction of the muscle pulls the heels toward the toes which causes pain and swelling. It is the swelling of this plantar tendon within your foot that is causing your pain.it runs from your toes to your heel.
All within all, the answer to your question is time. It time to get your foot into the condition they are in and it will take time to get them better...6 weeks to a year.
