Answers: Heel spurs is when a big band of ligament type structure called the plantar fascia gets stretched beyond of what it could switch. The weakest connection at the inside of your heel gets tugged and that's where you perceive the pain. Over time, if it's not fixed, the body will attempt to correct it by converting a part of that connection into bone. If it's still stretched, the cycle repeats itself. That's how you receive a heel spur.
Question is whether you have a heel spur or not. You'd have to consult with a podiatrist.
Heel spurs are another residence used for Plantar Fasciitis - a condition where the fibrous tissue (Plantar Fascia) becomes tight and inflammed leading to affliction in the heel area.
If the inflammation occurs over a long interval, calcium can lay down where this tissue attaches to the calcaneus (heel bone). This creates a spur which can be seen on x-ray. Normally with Plantar Fasciitis, distress is worse in the morning and after rest and can be aggravated by long periods of standing and thin soled shoes.
Treatment consists of.
1. Orthotics
2. Ice
3. Stretching Exercises
4. Night Splints to assist stretch Fascia
5. Ultrasound
6. NSAIDs
7. Steroid Injection into the tissue
Hope this helps.
