What is the treatment for heel spur?
Answers: I've had three heel spurs in my lifetime. The first time I went to a podiatrist . He give me a cortisone shot and some heel cups to put in my shoes. They did absolutely no good.
The second heel spur I have I used a different set of cups and it took care of the problem. The third heel spur I encountered I tried a different approach. I bought a pair of logger boots. In a few days they took vigilance of the problem and they never returned. A logger boot has a double heel , thus elevating the back of the leg. The reason i tried this is because of my experience as a farrier.(horseshoer) Many times if a horse is encounter a problem with the back of it's leg, you will shoe it with a gelatinous heeled shoe. This will
elevate it and possibly relieve the pressure off the affected part.
I hope this is nifty. I'm not trying to put down foot doctors, only to say that in my travel case their treatment didn't work.
Good luck
A heel spur is a small piece of bone on the back of the heel that peels down, creating a small bone "spur". It hurts!
They can be surgically removed, but will resolve themselves if left alone.
Chiropractors own "Laser Acupuncture" they claim will help. Medical doctors don't use them, so I don't believe that treatment is scientifically sound.
