If you had osteoporosis, what paart of your body would be affected?
Answers:
The common and firstly affectd areas are the vertebrae, wrists, or hips bones and as main symptoms fractures on these areas are seen, but there are no early symptoms.
Bones..any part especially weak bones - low calcium
backbones
Your bones, all of them. It means they are weakened, losing mass, and are more prone to breaking, sometimes with no apparent reasons.
Your bones. It is a degenerative bone condition. They thin and break easily.
skeletal system mainly though anything effected by a lower calcium concentration
Your bones.
I would think the back would be the obvious part to first become brittle and start getting a hump in the top part of it. The bones become weak and start rupturing and that's bad.
When you have osteoporosis, all your skeleton gets weakened ; All your body is affected but the most sought members (vertebras, arms, legs) are the most affected.
Bones and joints.
I have Osteopenia which is about 90% Osteoporosis. You get osteoporosis in your spine where it weakens the spinal cord. Osteoporosis is treatable. Fosamax can be taken to avoid spinal breakages.
BONES IT IS A DEGENARATIVE DISESE
ur bones..
your skeletal system, the bones will get weaker and will break easier, one common manifestation is vertebral crushing, causing the spine to curve causing the "hump" on the back.
it would efect all your bones.
Most people don't know they have osteoporosis until it's too late..Dexa scans are always a good idea with a baseline exam at the 40 year mark..Dexa scans are x-rays of the heel(limited) or of the spine and hips(complete)..Osteopenia is usually the first on the scene at or about 5-8 years before Osteoporosis..This disease tends to start in the major weight bearing bones like the spine..The spine will become weak and tiny fractures will appear..These are called compression fractures..The hips are also at great risk and tend to be the most popular amongst the older folks. There are several prescription medications on the market right now..An easy over the counter vitamin such as calcium may give a little help but has to be taken at not more than 500mg at a time 3 times a day..1500 mg a day is what is suggested but your body will only absorb 500mg at a time..Vitamin D should also be taken to help the bones absorb the calcium..Maybe too much info? Sorry, hope it helps...
