I always start by encouraging 2000mg of CAlcium and 400 of Vit. D. There are quite a few drugs for osteoporosis. Milcalcin nasal spray, Fosamax is a once a week pill. Boniva is a once a month pill. And just recently we have been adding an injection which lasts for 3 months.
Do not take anything like Boniva or Fosamax. They have been found to destroy your jawbones and the companies are being sued.

Best to take Calcium and Vitamin D.
