Can osteoporosis of the feet be cured at age 67,female?
My mother aged 67, is suffering from osteporosis of the feet and also tiny holes are present in the bones. Extra ununiform growth
has taken place in the feet and there are tiny holes also in the feet bones.She had had a feet operation 25 years ago and the bones were wrongly set and never rectified.Carelessness resulted in bones growing in disproportionate angles.She now is on Homeopathy medicines which has given a certain amount of relief, but not cured. The pain is excuciating during periods when the bone grows and it subsides after the growth stops, only to come back after a month.Should she go for a surgical operation
to rectify this state permanently? Or can surgery be dangerous at this age?Can it turn cancerous?Can the upper femur bones be damaged slowly, if this is not treated?

I would definietly take her to a podiatrist for starters. There is a medication for women in her age group called Evista that is used to help reverse and treat osteoporosis (it is also being studied for it's effects in treating breast cancer) . I'm not sure how it would affect your mother's condition though - she may need surgery to reset the bones.
Take her to a real doctor - I'm all for homeopaths but there needs to be proven medical treatment also.
There are medications to keep it at bay but as for it healing all the way and disappearing I would have to say no, when you older your body starts to take longer to heal, and at that age it would be almost impossible for her to walk away and be rid of this. but like i said there are medications keep her comfortable and to keep it at bay.
Well Dear, you say she's on Homeopathy medicine. There is a following on this type of medicine, especially around the Southwest, Nevada, etc and the State even recognizes it but..? most of it is unproven. It's using your sanitiaed urine as injections and other remedies.
I'm not a believe in this medication so will back off. You've chosen this course so..?
I'm not saying she would be cured but I would take my mother to a recognizable medical doctor, preferably an osteosurgeon and see what he has to say. I am sure he'd find something to give her the relief she's after. Cured or not, I don't think your going to find anything but, relief I'm sorry to say, at her age and the rate and condition you describe, I'd say relief is better than nothing.
