Does osteoporosis affect men when they are middle aged?

Answers:
Yes, men lose bone density as they age, just like women. There are two important differences that 'help men' have less of a problem - but they can still have a problem.

One: men tend to have larger bones and therefore 'more bone' to begin with than women (but if you are small boned like I am, you/I have increased risks).

Two: women go through a period of rapid bone loss after menopause, and obviously, men do not face this issue.

So, eat healthy foods. Get regular exercise. Don't smoke or drink. And take a quality vitamin/mineral supplement to be sure you aren't 'short' on important nutrients. And, be sure to supplement with extra vitamin D because deficiency of Vitamin D has become a pandemic in the U.S. and it has significant consequences for bone density.

Best wishes and good luck!
