Can a fish get osteoporosis?

i know that the question sounds crazy but when i first got them 6 mo's ago they were skinny little things, now they are huge w/ big bellies and hump backs. What is that?
[they are tetras]

Answers:
No, I don't think fish can get osteoporosis. You don't mention what kind of tetras they are, so that is not much help in determining if they are naturally large with hump backs.

Some fish normally look like that and some have genetic problems with their spines that cause the bending. There is nothing you can do about it in either case. The genetic condition is not treatable. If they seem healthy and swim around a lot, I would think that the hump back is just what they look like. They are probably happy.

I have some American Flagfish from Florida and they have a normally large belly and hump in their backs. They are healthy and happy.

You could be overfeeding them.
dont think so
