Osteoporosis? Has your Dr. prescribed a prescription drug and r u taking it?

If you are or are not, please tell me why. I was prescribed Actonel, but decided against it because of jaw necrosis and I have peridontal disease. I have decided not to take any prescribed drugs and will try to take better care of my bones thru nutrition, exercise and supplements. I'd appreciate any feedback.

This site explains why Americans have so much osteoporosis while in poor countries they have very little and the thing that you missing. Hint-- the thing you are missing is free. You can't buy it. It comes to you from a hundred million miles away!

My mother takes FOSAMAX. She has been told that she is going to have to take a medication where she will inject herself daily for two years to help repair/rebuild bones--I think it is called FOSEO or FOSIO. Something like that. After the two years of daily injections she will no longer have to take anything--not even FOSAMAX. She hasn't started it yet. Has to take class to learn to properly inject herself first. Good Luck!!
I Suffer from Osteoporosis and was prescribed fosamax a once weekley tablet and also calcium dissolving tablets .the fosamax is not a cure but helps to stop your bones getting weaker . I also eat yougurt and lots of dairy foods to try and aleviate any more bone problems .
i had a test for this and was told i have the bones of a 20yr old women , [i am much older ] they put it down to the fact i walk 3 or 4 miles a day . its the best exercise for bones by all accounts .
I would not take a prescription drug for osteoporosis. However, I do not have osteoporosis. First, for nutrition, stop drinking colas. Colas are so high in phosphorus that your body dumps calcium just to get rid of the excess phosphorus. Cut way back on red meat. Same reason. Red meat is high in phosphorus.
