What is the best thing to eat to avoid Osteoporosis?
Answers:
Lots of foods, other than milk, have calcium. Such as Broccoli, ask your doctor for a list. You must also get plenty of vitamin D as this is the way your body absorbs calcium, without it, you'll just pass it with no benefit. A good women's formula multivitamin is usually great too.
milk, milk and more milk, to build strong bones. getting alot of calcium into those bones, sitting up straight helps also.
get a doctor to check you out... and lots of calcium
Any dairy products like milk and cheese. The calcium is what you need to help prevent osteoporosis.
Any kind of dairy products are good. They are loaded with calcium which is what builds bone tissue. Just check the nutritional facts on things and see if they have high levels of calcium. If so, eat away.
The best foods to eat to help avoid Osteoporosis are calcium rich foods such as dairy products. Also, taking calcium supplements will help. A female needs at least 1800mg of calcium per day. The older you are, the more calcium you need. Exercise, especially muscle building exercises, such as strength training will help increase bone density which can also help avoid Osteoporosis. Hope this helps!
Food high in calcium. Common sources are dairy products. Broccoli is also considered high in Calcium. You may also need to take supplements. My mother drank lots of milk for many years and still got it. Her doctor told her supplements would have helped. Talk to your doctor and get her/his opinion.
Dairy products are best to slow down the process. have at least 3 servings of yogurt, or milk. the key is calcium, you need to supplement the calcium lose. if you are above 30 years, then your you will start to loose a little bone density, you will have to replenish this via your intake of dairy products. also do some light exercise. hope this helps
Calcium can be found in many foods other than dairy products. Dairy is ok, but your digestive system works most effeicently when dealing with food items not as "basic" as dairy products are. Dairy products when consumed in a larger quantity can drop the acidicy of your stomach and subsequently deminish the effects of digestion as well as the absorbtion of vitamins & minerals.
As you are getting older, you can't afford to lose any valuable vitamins & minerals. I suggest some dairy, but more veggies/fruits/ect. for your calcium intake.
