Does contraception shots may donate you osteoporosis surrounded by the long run?
well my doctor had told me to take calcium 500 mg for my bones because it have to be with a defect on the contraception shot? i do feel a bit strained!!
Answers: i dont know about that, but it does make you put on weight!!
One side affect of the shot is the risk of osteoporosis. You can rob as much as 1000 mg of calcium a day to counteract those effects. However, if you are still uncomfortable with the side effects of the shot you may want to consider switching to another form of contraception such as the pill (monthly or quarterly) or the patch. Contraception shots usually contain steroidal compounds, and long permanent status usage (years of usage) does increase your chances of developing osteoporosis. The thing is that if you are over the age of 25, the calcium supplementation probably won't do much good because your bones already own all the calcium in them they'll ever have, and the intention for the osteoporosis is because the calcium is leached from the bones.
I think Osteoporosis would be my last wory with the number of other serious side effects of any birth control. For instance increase risk of heart attack, blood clots, and very well all the rest over the long haul though the shot s probably the safest. Just remember theough over a long period of time on the shot your body can necessarily reject it meaning it will stop working and sometimes going back to something else will be the alternantive like the pill or the latest patch system.
For now take the calcium does the body good but lke the Dr. on here said if your lower than 25 it is a waste of time since you have maximum calcium storage. So if your over 25 have at it
or if you already hold kids or do not want them maybe consider getting your tubes tied?.
God Bless and Best Wishes
NO, quite the opposite. Ask your doctor for clarification, you enormously likely misunderstood him/her.
