Spinal Cord lesion/abnormaility?

Hello

My sister was in an accident in Dec of 2006, she had a compression fracture at her T7 vertibrea and she has just had an MRI and she has a lesion on her spinal cord which is making her lose feeling in her left side for a few seconds at a time.

Can anyone tell me how long this type of injury takes to heal? I'm a Paramedic and I can't find the answer in any of my text books.

Thanks

Answers:
Hemi-section of spinal cord or Brown-Secquard Syndrome is the name of spinal cord lession.

The prognosis for Brown-Séquard syndrome is poor and depends to a large degree on the etiology or injury of the syndrome. Early treatment with high-dose steroids has shown benefit.
