Spinal Fusion Surgery?

Has anyone had, or know someone who has had, a 360 spinal fusion with good results? I'm 31 years old and had an L5-S1 fusion done on January 19, 2006 and am still recovering but it is taking alot longer than I thought. All of the discussions that I can find on the internet seem to be nothing but bad news.

Answers:
some turn out fine but not the majority. every patient that undergoes back surgery has an average of four more. the best chance you have is to stay in great shape maintaining core strength. also be hopeful that the surgery adressed the true cause of your back pain and not just what was on the MRI. 60% of people with herniated discs have no pain. so do herniated discs always cause the pain? HMM... anyway good luck.
I had fusion surgery L3-S1 (3 discs) and have had positive results but it takes a LONG time for recovery. Be patient and if you're doing lots of walking and stomach crunches it should get better with time. Has your doctor allowed you to do any crunches?? Are you still having a lot of pain?? Send me an email if you want to, I'll try and help.
