What else could it be, if a spinal tap says it's not Multiple Schlerosis?
I know a million different things have the same symptoms, but we were all so convinced this is what my cousin had. He's 33 years old, and all of a sudden has lost the use of his limbs, well, over a period of about 6 months. It's gradually getting worst. The doctors seem to be clueless ... how do we figure this out? Are there any good sites for comparing symptoms of diseases?

Has your cousin been checked out for cancer? I hope and pray it isn't, however, my niece had gotten a chiropractic adjustment then within an hour or two went to her mom's house complaining of numbness and difficulty walking. Her mom rushed her to the ER. By the time 5 hours had gone by she was paralyzed from the neck down. She was taken to a bigger hospital where they diagnosed her with cancer that had wrapped around her brain stem. From start to finish- she lasted 18 days. She was only 22.
We could only guess here. I would make sure that he's seeing the best neurologist possible.
IF IT IS NOT MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS it may be : 1) Polyphasic Disorders: a) Inflammatory disorders b) Infectious diseases, or c ) Granulamatous disorders. 2. Monophasic illness : Acute dissemianted encephlomyelitis or 3)Progressive conditions like : a) Compressive lesions, b) Tropical spastic parapparesis, c) Laber's optic neuropathy
It could still be MS, what does the MRI show? Any lesions? It could be a few other diseases like Lymes diseases or tertiary syphilis. Just don't give up and if you have to suggest he try another doctor.
