Is it possible that Neurological disorder & spinal cord injuries can cure by stem cell therapy now a days?
well not completely yet , but will be in the near future, cause of several reasons. The multipotential charectristics of stem cells are some times dangerous that after transplantation if it goes uncontrolled it might cause cancerous tumors, but there is hope to reduce the risk of this by placing patients own reprogrammmed cell lines and directing them to form cells of interest ,for example spinal cord stem cells and neuronal stemcells are formed by using patients other adult cells like somatic cells( for example may be ear, forskin fibroblasts etc )and then reprogramming them to become stem cells.These possibilities are under investigation, at this moment. But nobody can guarntee sucess because we are have reached at this stage today because of the study on mice models, to go furtur from here we need to work on human ES cells. lack of ability work with Human embryonic stem cells cause of ethical reasons and also lack of knowledge , delaying its success
