Does any know about effectiveness of Spinal Decompression non-surgical threatment?
I am suffering from chronic back pain which is caused by a raptured disc in my lower back which also sends burning pain to my left leg. The amount of pain is emmense, sometimes intollerable. The specialist told me to do surgery but I am reluctant to that because I know a few people who did surgery but their condition is no better than what it used to be before surgery. A friend gave me the phone number of a doctor who claims that he treats this with spinal decompression in a machine and asks for $10,000 which insurance won't cover.
Does anyone know if that is going to be effective or do surgery. Please advise from your experience and knowledge that which movements are good to do, which physical activities and what to avoid? You would have helped a person who is dying from pain. Thank you.

I know how you feel! I too have had this problem and like you I chose not to have surgery.
My gut instinct is that your $10,000 will be wasted. There is a treatment where a heated wire is inserted into the disc and this causes the disc to shrink. Its very effective and I'm pretty sure that its a procedure which your insurance will cover.
