Does anyone know of a spinal cord disorder or disease that may cause death before the age of 30?

Not all of these result in death, but here are a few of the many conditions that may affect the spinal cord:
1. Spina bifida ("cleft spine") is incomplete development of the brain, spinal cord, and/or meninges. There are four different types; symptoms range from "none" to "severe". See http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/spina... for good information spina bifida.
