My son (12) needs spinal fusion surgery. I live in Philly. Dupont or CHOP? How bad is it?
Which hospital is better? How was your childs outcome? Could they ever play football again? Is their quality of life better afterwards? Does the spine stay straight after surgery>

you just answered one of my questions and decided to check out some of the questions you posted, which iam now glad i did. when i was 17 , me and my twin were diognosed with scoliosis( curvature of the spin) we both needed to have the harringtons rods put in to staighten our spines. which were placed on either side of our spine about a foot long apeice. it was a tramatic sergury but i thank god everyday i had it. no more pain, i can do anything no limitations except for now i sit up real staight ...ha ha.., and yes if i hadnt had the surgery i wouldnt be here today. the curve was starting to push against my heart and liver and if that happened i wouild have died. so i thank god everyday for doctors.
Spine Surgery is very cheap in India.There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges spine surgery for foreigners in India.They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for international patients as all surgery is not covered by insurance or by the stinking NHS.
