Does anyone know about Spinal Meningitis...Viral type ?
What are the dangers and what are the cures
Answers:
Meningitis is an illness in which there is inflammation of the tissues that cover the brain and spinal cord. Viral or "aseptic" meningitis, which is the most common type, is caused by an infection with one of several types of viruses. Meningitis can also be caused by infections with several types of bacteria or fungi. In the United States, there are between 25,000 and 50,000 hospitalizations due to viral meningitis each year.

Dr's need to do a spinal tap to check, massive doses of antibiotics, possible death and/or brain damage.but then again with proper medical intervention and medicine health can be restored back to normal.
The worst thing about viral meningitis is making sure it really is. (And this excludes discussion of some really nasty diseases like herpes meningoencephalitis). For the typical case, the treatment is symptomatic/supportive, though pretty well everybody gets antibiotics until it's sure that the cause is viral. Fever, headache, and perhaps a stiff neck typically last quite a few days, and it's a miserable experience unless you compare it to bacterial meningitis. People normally get well without long-term effects.
