I just har a spinal tap yesterday, and the pain is still perseistant. Is this normal.?
They ER did it cause they thought i may have an anurism due to a persistant migraine. Im on 600 mg of ibuprofen and another pain med.
Answers:
Ive had over 15 spinal taps, and the last few took a while for the pain to go away. I usually have bad headaches for the first 2 days, then it lessens and goes away by the 4th day. I took Norco to lessen the pain, but it really only makes me sleep, not get rid of the pain. If the migraines are still bothering you, though, I would suggest speaking to your doctor about it.
call ur doctor!
its normal to feel pain from a spinal tap..if your head is still buggin i suggest you call your doctor and try to get something figured out...migraines suck ***!
call your dr
you will be sore for a couple of days. if your not better after than i would talk to your doc.
i hope they find the source of you migrains and can treat them. they suck, i know
Call your doc to see if you can take more than 600mg of ibuprophen (or ask a pharmacist), but be sure to mention the other meds that you are. They cold have hit a nerve when they did the spinal tap.
all i can say i don't know if the procedure is any differant but when i was like 12 had this done and had headache for a few days supossedly this is caused by them draining the fluid out of the spinal column for testing and your body needs to reproduce this fluid before the headache will stop
