Is it true that you have to be flat of your back for 8hrs. after receiving a spinal block?

no, they will sit u up in bed, then after 8 hours they will have you walk
I wasn't on my back for 8 hours after the birth of my second son. I was completely numb (unlike only partially numb with the epidural at the birth of my first son), but I don't remember it lasting that long. I started to regain feeling/sensation in my legs about 45 minutes after my c-section was over, and I began to stand/walk a few hours after that.
