What is when you have a mild broad-based posterior disk protrusion, abutting the ventral spinal cord.?

MIR of cervical spine.

Answers:
A disc protrusion is a herniation. You may need surgery.
Slipped disc?
You have spur formation and a disc about to herniate. It is also pressing on your nerves and causing you a lot of pain. Believe me, I know.
Make your doctor tell you exactly what this means and how to treat it. Don't settle for surgery until you are absolutely sure it will cure your pain.

I know you are in a lot of pain. I am so sorry.
As we get older this can happen or it can also happen from an old injury. I used to transcribe reports like this and that is what they always say. The part about mild is the part that gets me. I have never heard them report "severe" so I guess you would have to be totally non ambulatory. Mild means a lot of pain. Radiologist use generalized terms based on what is described in their terminology of diagnoses. You need help now. You may require surgery but that should be left up to your doctor to refer you to an orthopedic surgeon.
