I need advice on treating a scar that is on my neck..Due to spinal surgery. It is 3 1/2 inches long an red?
and bumpy in two spots. It is only 4 weeks old, but it is so ugly.
It is the first thing people look at when they see me. The doctor mentioned plastic surgery if it does not look better in 6 weeks. Any advice. I am not normally this vein, but it is really ugly. Help!
Vitamin E Oil everyday.
Vitamin E oil can help with that. Emu Oil is another really good skin healing product, it always amazed me how fast things would heal with it.
This might sound silly, but talk with your body to let it know what you want to accomplish in that area. The body listens well.
MEDERMA for scars. Found in most pharmacies. OTC
I had breast reduction surgery and ended up with 32 inches of scars on my breasts. They were so awful at first that they made me want to throw up when i would look at them. But over the months after the surgery they faded. I used mederma(i also put it on old acne scars and they improved too,) kept the incisions clean, and did everything i could to avoid opening the wounds. Now some of the scars aren't visible but you can see some of them but they are very faint and I haven't had any complaints ;-)
I would say you should consider how other injuries and cuts you have had healed in the past. If they do not heal well then you might want to consider plastic surgery. They do have a laser treatment to reduce the appearance of scars- it hurts like the devil though(at least on breasts!) so make sure they numb you up- i was too timid to say anything and just called the whole thing off and ran out of the office!! Luckily I didn't really need it in the long run.
The only other thing about scars that I can think of is if you have keloid scars. If you have keloid scars instead of regular scars then this is a different story and you should read about them at online health sites and here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/keloid... .
You should also do an image search to see if you have keloid scars even if the doctor hasn't diagnosed it yet.
Scars take about two years to heal real well. Keep putting vitamin E oil on it regularly, moisturizing lotion and broad spectrum suntan lotion anytime you are outside. New scars are very susceptible to developing skin cancers so protect any fresh scar from direct sunlight. There are also those creams like Derm e Scar just for helping heal scars but they are very high priced and plain vitamin E oil always worked well for me. If the scar is completely healed then you can rub gently on the bumps but do this gently. Rubbing the bumps out takes months of gentle massage.
I had one too and I'm normally not vain either but when I took off my bandages I freaked out! It has been 5 years since my surgery and even when I point to it people still can't see it. It will slowly fade...I promise. If you are really worried make sure you apply moisturizer to your neck when you do your face(you should really do this anyway. Also, cocoa butter can reduce the redness of scars.
there is a vitmain complex and cream combo that should solve this problem. email me for details and have your settings allow me to reply back.
