Spinal Muscular Atrophy & HIV?
Could someone please help? I am driving myself crazy. I have spinal muscular atrophy and unfortunately I cheated on my girlfriend back in August. I had protected vaginal sex and unprotected oral sex. About a month afterwards I was feeling strange so I went to my doctor and all of the test came back negate. But that doesn't mean you don't have it. Recently my girlfriend had a cold and fever with cough. The cold is basically gone except for that slight cough that is still in her system. Then yesterday she had a case of diarrhea. She thinks it was what she ate, but I can't help but be worried. As for me I was in the hospital back in November for what they think was pneumonia. But with me that's not nothing new. Recently I have been feeling weird and I don't know if it's my imagination or if there is something there. I have been looking for symptoms and don't know if it really is there or it's just me. I don't care if I die from this, but not my girlfriend please.

Get yourself tested for HIV/AIDS again. Initial infection with HIV can produce no symptoms. Most people, however, do experience flu-like symptoms with fever, rash, sore throat, and swollen lymph nodes, usually two weeks after contracting the virus. Some people with HIV infection remain without symptoms for years between the time of exposure and development of AIDS.
You should also contact the slapper you had sex with and see if she's been tested.
You're just freaking yourself out b/c of guilt over cheating on your girlfriend.

just get the 2 of you tested every month or maybe twice a month

I can imagine the worry you are in. Chances are that your muscular atrophy is not related to HIV. This is a sign of advanced disease process and usually manifests in the late stages of the disease. Its not possible to have any atrophy/dystrophy as early as this.
About the other signs, they could be anything ranging from just a bacterial infection to something more serious. This is flu season so that could explain your GFs symptoms.
I would suggest that you take the HIV test because if you had sexual relations in August then by now the test can show positive results if you were actually infected.
Meanwhile i suggest you start using protection with your GF because even if you have the virus there could be chances that you have not yet passed it onto her. Atleast until you both get tested.
I think you are putting yourself in a terrible situation by saying that you dont care if you die because i have seen a lot of my friends who simply assume that they have the HIV and involve themselves in risky behavour without protecting themselves and it turns out they were not positive in the first instance.
You might not care about ourself but you have to think of the terrible situation you would put your girlfriend in.
Please dont assume that you are positive by just thinking it and then go and do something you might live to regret the rest of your life.
