Best Daily Exercise With Spinal Problems..?

What should be the daily routine exercise for a 54 year old man with diabetese, blood pressure, and spinal problems in the form of disc prolapse in C5-C6 8 years back and also backache and Sciatica like symptoms in the right leg.I don't have any day to day symptoms but am worried that my spinal problems should not aggravate, but to keep my blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol under control my doctor suggests daily exercises.

Walk

Start slow, walk down your block and then home. See if anything is aggravated the next day...if not, walk around the block. Again see next day. You should be fine walking, get some good support shoes and don't overdo it. Walk as much and as often as you can without feeling sore. Also try various speeds, or if tolerated bring a 2 lb weight in each hand while you walk. Good luck!
