How do you lose weight when you have a Spinal Cord Injury? I am only 15 lbs overweight and don't really eat
It is not hereditary.

I'm assuming that you regularly see a physican, so ask them to recommend a nutritionist who can help you come up with an eating plan that will help you to lose some weight. also if you go to physical therapy, they can probably recommend a personal trainer which can help you with exercises that will work with your injury.
there r sitting exercises which can be done
You need to eat. Not eating increases your chances of gaining weight. When we don't eat well, our body protects itself by storing as much as possible when we do eat. Hence slowing your metabolism. If you want to lose weight the FIRST step is to eat well and if you have an injury, talk to you physician for suggestions on physical activity and what is safefor you; walking has worked WONDERS for me. But please Eat! Eat well and walk. Good luck and kiss good bye those pounds.
If you are not really eating, you are inviting trouble. The body makes 2 litre of hydrochloride in a day for food digestion. If you don't eat, you will have more acid accumulation in the stomach and that will further produce wind. 15 lbs is not a danger zone. You must eat moderately by chewing your food properly and drink sufficient water in a day. To lose weight, cut down on fast and junk food, oily and spicy food, aerated cold drinks, ice cream, banana, mango and apply custard. Eat light vegetarian food, fruits, fruit juices and plenty of salad. Good luck and best of health.
Before doing anything, ask your doctor what you should not do, this will be important so as not to hurt yourself. Then go from there. Whenever I train anyone who has a serious injury, I always want to know what they are not supposed to do first!
Your doctor will have many ideas for you. He will be able to tell you if you can do aerobics, and what kind you should and shouldn't do for instance. Talk with him first.
Go on a high protein, low carbohydrate diet. Eat fish, eggs, chicken, occasional lean beef or pork, low fat cottage cheese. Stay away from regular cheese, no bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, peas, beans (except green beans). No fruit and no fruit juice (it's sugar water, my dr says). Cut down on carrots and tomatoes (included ketchup). Use mustard instead of mayonnaise in recipes. Eat lots of salads, green vegetables. Salads only have one tablespoon of dressing for the whole salad. No ice cream, or other desserts. 8 glasses of water a day. No caffeine
