Will stem cell research find the cure for spinal cord injuries, will people be able to walk again?
Answers:
I hope so. There has been some promising research on rats with spinal cord problems, and when they inserted stem cells, after a while the rats could wiggle their tails and start to walk again. I had a tumor removed from my neck last October, then by the first of the year am infection had gotten into my T-10 vertebrae. I have been in a wheelchair ever since. My neurologist has looked at all of my MRI's, and now the swelling is gone and I should be able to walk again, but it is going to be a long road. I didn't realize how many other functions are controlled by the spinal cord, and this is my concern now.
Very good possibilities that it will.
I believe glyconutrients are the answer you are looking for. My family has been taking glyconutrients daily since my youngest child had a Wilms tumor in June 2004. Today she is a healthy, unstoppable, 6 year old. Her cancer made me do further studies in glyconutrients. Today, scientists are making new discoveries in stem cell studies, also to give people hope with spinal cord injuries. I personally know one lady who's foot was hanging from a thread after a horseback riding accident. She was told she would never walk again. Today, you would never know she had ever had such a severe injury after committing to a daily intake of glyconutrients.
