Spinal tap?
I am 10 years and i have to get a spinal tap soon. do they hurt? can my mommy come in with me? how old were u? what position r u in when they do it.

they don't hurt bad they freeze your back side first, it's best if your mom didn't come in with you because if she got sick or fainted that would distracted the doctor and the nurses and then things could go wrong for you , and when they do that procedure you are lying on your back , they may even put you to sleep for it ,don't worry it's all for your well being , good luck and i hope it all works out for you in the end , no pun intended, then let us all know how it went and maybe that will help another person that has to have the same thing , be brave
Hello, I was 7 years old when I had to get mine, that was 16 years ago. All I remember I was that it hurt alot because they had to do it in an emergency. They had me lay on my side with my knees tucked up to my chest. Nowadays, they will probably have you sit on the side of the bed, leaning over a table. It depends on the situation if they will let your mom stay with you. They didn't let my mom stay in with me because it was an extreme emergency. Mom said she could hear me screaming down the hall...but that because they didn't have time to numb me. They will numb you, so you won't feel it, and yes, they probably will let you mom stay in with you. Hope this helps and I don't mean to scare you.
I had mine when I was in my 30's.They took me into this room with a narrow hard bed to lay on.I was placed on my stomach.They rubbed a solution of numbing gel on the spot where the needle was to go in.It only felt like a small bee sting and then it was over.
And yes,you can have your mommy with you if you ask them.
