I HAD C3,4,5 FUSED WITH BONE FRAGMENTS FROM MY HIP ABOUT 10 YRS AGO. MANY COMPLICATIONS AFTERWARD. NOW THEY JUST GLUE THEM WITH LESS COMPLICATIONS, AND FASTER HEALING. IT DID GIVE ME BACK THE FEELINGS IN MY HANDS AND ARMS CAUSED BY THE PINCHED NERVES, AND MY HEADACHES GOT BETTER.
My hubby has its when calcium builds up in between your virtabrae and fuses them togeather. Very painful, hubby went to see a chiropracter and they releived the pain for a while

-I've had 2 spinal fusions. the first one L4 to S1, the second L1 to S1. the first one healed remarkably but I re-injured myself within 2 years and neede a second one which I've never really completely recoveres from. I do however feel that both surgeries were abosolutly necessary. I also had a very well respected surgoen specializing in nuerology do both surgeries.
My daughter had a spinal fusion when she was 13, she also has rods in her back. She moves about completely fine but looks like she has the posture of a ballet dancer.
