Recovery time for spinal fusion surgery?

son broke T-6 anterior + posterior vertebrae . . had surgery w/bone graft . . 2 titanium rods installed (?) from T-5 to T-7 . . . surgery was 6-4-06 - he wants to be snowboarding in November - I think he's like temporarily insane.

Answers:
depends on his will to get better :)
he wont be moving ANYTHING ANYWHERE in november it takes at LEAST a year to heal from that sort of surgery, i had it done myself
He is temporarily insane, it's going to take him a year to get back to vigorous activity like snowboarding. If his doctor ever lets him go back to it. Just tell him that he HAS TO take it easy or he'll cause himself more injury and pain.
