hi! its a question which keeps nagging many people. No one can ever sleep straight on the back, after some time we all change our posture and sleep side ways, in this posture we need to have a pillow perfectly sufficient to cover the gap between the neck and the shoulder, so that we don't strain our vertibral column while sleeping.If your pillow is bigger than that, then change it immediately ,if in case it is small then you can stuff a bed sheet or two into the cover to make it suit your requirement. In my view the pillow should be just comfortable enough for one to get a sound sleep, this generally differs from person to person. A pillow is considered right if it does not force you to support your head with your hand, this leads to numbness in the hand and sleep disturbance. The highly emphasized ortho pillows are doing good to the manufacturers than the users. So, take my advise switch over to a comfortable pillow as per your requirement and try doing some easy stretching and bending exercises in the morning to ease your stiffened muscles and your day will be great.
