they usually give it to pregnant women b4 delivering the baby so they dont feel the pain, basically they take some liquid out of ur spine and it numbs a certain area for a few hours but when the liquid comes back, u'll be able to feel again
It's given to women in labor. It causes the nerves in the lower half of the body to not respond (no pain). I haven't heard of it used for male back pain though
