Question about spinal and nerve damage and the affects?

Last year my husband was in a car accident and fractured his C4 vertebrae & suffered some nerve damage. thanx to a great neurosurgeon, outstanding physical therapist and the grace of God he is walking and moving about. he was also supposed to be paralyzed but isnt. can this affect ur sexual interaction? he says that he loses interest about after a minute even if he watches anything with sexual content in it. yet he does get an erection he also says that he is alot less sensitive in that area including his testes and doesnt have much of a sensation. his dr prescribed him with viagra but doesnt have an interest in having intercourse. i told him it would be easier to try this method to see if there was something other than it being just mental. then we could bring it to the attention of his urologist. any idea if this is just his subconscience as he may still be affected by the trauma or can it really be due to the spinal injury, thinking to himself that he may not be able to perform? TY
It could be damage, it could be psychological, it could be PTSD. He has been through too much, just drop the issue for 6-12 months, hard I know, but, as they say, in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad. My prayers are with you both.
