Question about Spinal Cord injury?

Is it possible for someone who has a c6-c7 spinal cord injury for 8 months now to walk again someday on their own? It was bruised, not severed. I know that scar tissue blocks the nerves, and I'm also wondering if there's any way to get rid of it so he can get some feeling back? It's been 8 months since the accident and there are no changes in him yet. Will there ever be? If someone can give me an honest answer I would appreciate it.

Answers:
Sorry to dash your hopes but as a rule, if no return of function occurs within three months of the injury, chances are the injury is already permanent. This is probably the reason why there is so much interest in stem cell research in the hope of getting the spinal cord to regenerate.
