Every had spinal tap or endoscopy?

I want to know what to expect..answers from people who have had a spinal tap or endoscopy please. What's it like, is it very painful?

Answers:
Don't worry. A spinal tap is more uncomfortable than painful. A local anesthetic is used. If you are in need of a spinal tap, the way you feel will make you undego anything to get better. The procedue allows the doctor to examine the fluid that is encased within the spinal cord, and around the brain for bleeding and or bacterial infection, so they can be treated more effectively.
Endoscopy. Again a mild sedative will be given before the procedure is done, no pain that I recall.
Colonoscopy: Main complaint is the constant colonic irrigations, more irritating than the procedure itself.
I had a spinal tap and it was no different than getting a shot. Just a short needle prick while they insert it. I was really scared about it but it was no big deal. I'm sorry but I can't help you with the endoscopy. Good luck with your procedure.
