Why does spinal fusion surgery cost so much?
I've had two of them and while I don't know the cost of the recent one, the previous one cost somewhere in the range of 90 thousand dollars! Where the heck did all that money go anyway?

Probably to go for malpractice insurance because we live in a sue-happy society. Its the spine, which means if they make a mistake, you'd be paralyzed or worse it could affect your breathing. Not an easy surgery to do.

the surgeon, anesthisian, all the instruments used, all the other assistants there plus hospital recovery time. it kinda sucks but thats the way it is, although there are alot of private health plans that help lessen this cost, the amount you say is kinda of extreme.
