Headaches after spinal nerve block?
I had a spinal nerve block performed a month ago. I was having severe lower back pain before I had it done. The pain is still there,but not as bad as before.But now I've been having bad headaches which I didn't have until after the bolck.Has anyone had this done and now suffer from haedaches?

Unfortunately, you will probably still suffer from these headaches for a while to come. Have you already gone to your follow up appointment? If not, then be sure to bring them up w/ your doctor when you do go... sometimes (depending on exactly how recent it was) they can stop the headaches by injecting some of your blood into the same spot where they gave you your spinal. For me, these headaches were completely debilitating & I couldn't even sit up or walk for about 3 weeks after the procedure. Even now, a year later, I still get some headaches that I just *KNOW* are remnants of the headaches I only started getting after I had the spinal block. I never had/felt this particular type of headache before then. Hang in there, though. I hope your pain starts to ease up soon.
This is pretty common.
I think the best way to treat it is with acetaminophen and caffeine (try a regular coke).
Make sure you tell your doc about these, though. They want to know if they persist and/or if they don't go away.

A Cerebrospinal fluid leak or fistula is a common complication of a spinal nerve block. Usualy appears within hours or days of the procedure. The only symtpon usually is a severe headache. You must tell your doctor. This usually autorepairs with rest. You may benefit by laying in supine, with no pillow or even your head lower than the rest of your body.
