What abnormal spinal curvature will result if he doesn't get it ,and why?

my uncle had colon surgery.he is now experiencing weakness of the muscle on his right side only,the side which the incision was made through the abdomial musculature.the abdomial muscles on the left side contract more strongly,throwing his torso into a lateral flexion.he needs physical therapy.
